The anchor on the daily Russia-1 program 60 Minutes, Evgeny Popov, made the comment in a segment in which he discussed the former U.S. president’s suggestion that Ukraine should have done a deal with President Vladimir Putin to prevent war. Trump had told The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show podcast that Ukraine could have “given up” Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014, and promised not to join NATO to stop Putin invading....

The comments by Andrey Sidorov, deputy dean of world politics at the university, have gone viral on social media. At least four teachers across the country have recently been turned in to authorities by students or parents for engaging in anti-war speech, The Washington Post reported Sunday. In some cases, students have secretly recorded instructors, who made negative comments about the invasion, before contacting the police. One teacher in western Russia, Irina Gen, was criminally investigated and forced to resign from her position after she explained to students that Ukraine is a “sovereign state,” according to the Post....

Stuart Ramsay, correspondent with the British television network, on Friday published his account along with video footage of the chilling incident. Ramsay said he and his crew were “lucky” after he and camera operator Richie Mockler were not seriously injured. But the incident signals that the conflict is becoming potentially more lethal as civilians and now journalists are in harm’s way. Ramsay said in his narrative that the incident began Monday when he and his four team members set out for the town of Bucha, outside of Ukraine’s besieged capital city Kyiv....

The prevailing mood among the relatives, friends, colleagues and acquaintances was now one of unease, according to 69 percent of respondents to the latest survey by Russia’s Public Opinion Foundation, or FOM, published on September 29. Twenty-six percent of those polled reported a state of calm.
