Reilly, a Columbus Blue Jackets draft pick in 2011, will not be signing with the team, according to the Columbus Dispatch’s Aaron Portzline.
From Portzline:
Blue Jackets star Ryan Johansen doesn’t have to respect it, though:
“We have to respect it. It’s part of the (collective bargaining agreement). He has this right.”
OK, then. Portzline added that Reilly has narrowed his list of possible destinations to two or three NHL clubs. Chicago, Minnesota, Los Angeles and the New York Rangers were among the groups to make a push for his services.
Reilly just finished his junior year at Minnesota and is a two-time All-American defenseman who put up 42 points in 39 games last season, then helped Team USA win a bronze medal at the World Championships.
More from CBS Sports’ Chris Peters:
But hey, Johansen doesn’t want him.
