Turns out Ryan Mallett didn’t oversleep this time.
The Texans quarterback missed the team’s charter flight to Miami on Saturday because of traffic troubles.

“I just got caught in traffic,” Mallett said Sunday, via the Houston Chronicle. “Got to be on time. It’s not the leadership role that I need to exhibit. So, I have to be better.”
Mallett was forced to take a commercial flight to Sunday’s blowout loss to the Dolphins. In August, he missed a training camp practice, claiming he had overslept. When asked why he’s repeatedly late to team activities, Mallett replied: “It only happened twice.”
After yet another incident, Mallett’s days in Houston could be numbered. He has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, though he has primarily served as Brian Hoyer’s backup.
