But not all jetbikes are made equal. While any jetbike can get a player from one end of the world to the other, some provide a fast, smoother ride than others. The parts can be mixed and matched to create custom bikes as well, but here’s how each set stacks up based on performance.

10 The Beetle Set

The Beetle Set can be purchased from the merchant at Burnt Oak Station, making it one of the earliest sets players can acquire after setting out on their Gliding. As such, it’s a far cry from the best pieces of equipment Sable can put on her bike.

The Beetle Set trades speed for control, making it useful for navigating through tight spots but almost useless for traveling anywhere with speed. It’s a decent beginner’s set but is quickly overshadowed by much better, more powerful pieces.

9 The Giraffe Set

The Giraffe set can be purchased from the Bike Merchant just outside Eccria. One of the cheaper sets he sells, the Giraffe Set is a strange attempt at a jetbike that doesn’t quite hit the mark. While it boasts a higher maximum speed than some other sets, it sacrifices acceleration and handling to get there.

The Giraffe Set might seem like a good option for a speedy bike early on in the game, but it builds up speed so slowly that the player is likely to crash and lose all momentum before ever reaching that top speed.

8 The Delivery Set

The Delivery Set is an interesting bike set that doesn’t quite offer enough performance to justify its strange design. It’s sold by the Bike Merchant outside the town of Eccria and proves to be a marginal improvement over its sister bike, the Giraffe Set.

When compared to the Giraffe Set, the Delivery Set is a much more manageable choice with better acceleration and handling at the expense of a lower top speed. That said, it’s still not quite as efficient as the Gliding Set Sable beings her journey with.

7 The Gliding Set

The Gliding Set is not a bad set of jetbike parts by any stretch of the imagination, especially when compared to the tester bike players have access to in the tutorial area. It’s also the first set players can customize with different colors.

In use, though, it’s fairly average, with poor handling and slow acceleration. Getting any air while riding with this set on will usually leave the bike spinning out for several seconds before the player can regain control.

6 The Eyries Set

The Eyries Set is one of the harder sets to find, which makes it a bummer that it doesn’t have dramatically better performance. It can be purchased at the Eyrie, one of Sable’s more well-hidden locations overlooking the Badlands.

The Eyrie set essentially functions as a slightly faster version of the Gliding Set, the jetbike Sable begins her Gliding with. Though its design looks cool and makes it easier to control, it doesn’t hold up against some of the other, late-game sets.

5 The Nomadic Set

The Nomadic Set can be purchased from the Merchant at the Marrow Bone Station in the Wash. The Nomadic Set is one of the best options players can find early on in the game as it offers a respectable level of balance between each of the performance stats.

While it can’t go quite as fast as some of the other bike sets it more than makes up for this with improved acceleration and handling. It’s a natural upgrade to the Gliding Set and should be one of the first sets players seek out after starting their journey.

4 The Lightning Crystal Set

The Lightning Crystal Set is one of the game’s more well-hidden sets, but it’s a jetbike worth seeking out. The “Lightning In A Bottle Quest” can be picked up from Machinist Zahra at Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa, and completing it allows Sable to buy the bike parts from Zahra.

The Lightning Crystal Set is one of the fastest in the game, tying for second place with the Speedster Set. It has a respectable level of handling, though its acceleration is a bit on the low side. And while it’s one of the better sets in the game, it has terrible crash recovery that will leave it spinning out after every rough landing.

3 The Whale Ship Set

Earning the Whale Ship Set is an achievement in its own right, but the parts themselves prove to be among the best Sable has to offer. Players can find the Whale Ship set after completing the “Historical Reconnection” quest that requires Sable to learn more about the deep lore of her world and its condition.

The Whale Ship Set is the fastest in the game, offering unparalleled maximum speed at the expense of lower-than-average acceleration and handling. The bike’s aerodynamic design also makes it easier to control while going over sand dunes, and it has good recovery when landing after a jump.

2 The Hicaric Ring Set

The Hicaric Ring Set is possibly the hardest set in the game to find, locked behind a hidden quest that spans the entirety of the world map. The quest “An Ancient Race” requires players to recover six hidden relics and return them to the Mysterious Shrine in the Badlands. After completing the quest, players will unlock the Hicaric Ring set.

The set itself is one of the game’s most coveted sets, both in performance and design. While it doesn’t boast a high maximum speed, it makes up for this with above-average acceleration and nearly maxed-out handling.

1 The Speedster Set

The Speedster Set isn’t found by finishing a sprawling questline or discovering a hidden area. Instead, all players have to do to find this set of jetbike parts is simply purchase it from the Bike Merchant in Eccria. It costs a whopping 900 cuts for the whole set, but it’s well worth the price.

The Speedster Set is the best jetbike set in the game, without question. It sports the second-highest maximum speed in the game, and its maxed-out acceleration and handling make it the best option for traveling around one of the best indie-developed open-world games.

Sable was released on September 23, 2021, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
